Cyberabad Police Engage Private Security Sector on Compliance and Coordination

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police department convened a significant awareness initiative bringing together private security agencies, security guards, and CCTV vendors to bolster community protection and strengthen ties with law enforcement authorities. The event, held at CMR Technical Campus in Kandlakoya, Medchal, drew approximately 300 participants from the security sector.

Deputy Commissioner of Police N. Koti Reddy, who heads the Quthbullapur Zone, spearheaded the programme and emphasized the importance of adherence to the Private Security Agencies Regulation (PSAR) Act, 2005. During his address, the DCP outlined the legal obligations incumbent upon security firms and illustrated these requirements through practical examples drawn from actual cases.

Koti Reddy underscored the vital role that private security personnel perform in crime mitigation and public protection. He called upon the assembled stakeholders to implement visitor documentation systems, conduct proper identity verification before permitting entry to sensitive locations, and immediately escalate any questionable conduct to police authorities.

The DCP further stressed the need for prompt notification regarding unattended items and potential security hazards. CCTV operators received specific guidance to maintain continuous surveillance system functionality and report equipment malfunctions without delay.

Participants were also advised to keep emergency contact information current to facilitate rapid police coordination when situations demand immediate response.

The programme was attended by Additional DCP Purushottam, ACPs Shankar Reddy and Bala Gangireddy, and zone inspectors. The Cyberabad Police expressed confidence that enhanced collaboration between private security agencies, technical vendors, and law enforcement would create a more robust security infrastructure across the Quthbullapur Zone. Participants responded positively to the initiative and pledged their commitment to working alongside police in strengthening security measures.
