Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh has made an appeal to residents to observe the upcoming Bakrid festival in a manner that preserves peace and strengthens communal bonds.

Speaking during a Peace Committee gathering held at the Cyberabad Commissionerate on Tuesday, the commissioner made clear that law enforcement would respond with severity to any actions designed to undermine public order or create disturbances.

Over the preceding 45 days, the Cyberabad police force has been implementing comprehensive security measures to ensure the festival proceeds without incident. These efforts have included establishing checkpoint operations and enhancing monitoring activities focused on identifying and tracking individuals engaged in criminal conduct throughout the police commissionerate's jurisdiction.

The commissioner also cautioned residents about the spread of fabricated information, recycled video footage, and false narratives disseminated through social media channels. He called on the public to promptly notify authorities of any questionable material encountered online.

Senior officials from the police department underscored the significance of maintaining peaceful relations between communities, upholding cleanliness standards, and conducting celebrations in accordance with the law. They requested public participation in facilitating successful festival observances.

The meeting drew attendance from Kukatpally DCP N. Koti Reddy, Serilingampally DCP C.H. Srinivas, and Kukatpally DCP Ritiraj. Additional participants included SB DCP Sudheendra, Crimes DCP Muthyam Reddy, and Station House Officers representing police stations across the region.

Religious leaders and community figures from both Hindu and Muslim communities were present at the gathering, alongside various representatives from civil society organizations.
