Hyderabad's Cyberabad Police launched a focused drug-testing operation targeting rowdy sheeters on Wednesday, examining 128 individuals across the commissionerate in an effort to address substance abuse and strengthen public safety measures.

The screening revealed concerning results: 11 individuals tested positive for ganja consumption, while 117 tested negative. The Serilingampally zone emerged as the area with the most positive cases identified during the operation.

Breaking down the zone-wise figures, Serilingampally reported six positive cases among 44 individuals tested. Quthbullapur followed with four positive results from 59 people screened, while Kukatpally documented one positive case out of 25 individuals tested.

Police officials indicated that those who tested positive for ganja would face legal proceedings. Beyond enforcement action, the department plans to implement counselling sessions and maintain ongoing monitoring of affected individuals where deemed necessary.

The operation reflects a comprehensive strategy by the Cyberabad Police to combat drug abuse and uphold law and order standards throughout the commissionerate. Officials confirmed that comparable drives would be conducted on a regular basis across different police zones going forward.

In a bid to strengthen community participation, the police have appealed to residents to provide reliable information regarding drug trafficking operations and substance abuse incidents. Citizens with relevant intelligence are encouraged to reach out to officials stationed in the Serilingampally, Kukatpally, and Quthbullapur zones.
