Cyberabad launches targeted dog bite prevention initiative across residential areas

Hyderabad: In a bid to enhance public safety and health consciousness, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation has initiated a dog bite prevention campaign spanning colonies and public gathering spaces under its 99 Days Action Plan framework.
The drive, which commenced with activities on Friday, involves veterinary specialists and field personnel conducting awareness sessions in various neighborhoods. The initiative addresses multiple facets of dog bite prevention, from incident avoidance to post-exposure medical care.
Authorities have prioritized educating residents on immediate response protocols following dog attacks. The campaign emphasizes washing bite wounds thoroughly with soap and clean running water for a minimum of 15 minutes, followed by prompt medical attention at the nearest healthcare facility.
A central focus of the outreach involves underscoring the critical role of Anti-Rabies Vaccination. Officials have stressed that individuals bitten by dogs must complete the entire prescribed vaccine course without interruption. Pet owners have simultaneously been urged to maintain regular vaccination schedules for their animals and adhere to responsible pet management standards.
The campaign also addresses behavioral precautions, with authorities cautioning residents against provoking or approaching stray animals in residential neighborhoods and communal spaces.
Veterinary teams have committed to sustaining awareness initiatives across all administrative circles within Cyberabad. Officials view the campaign as part of a broader, ongoing commitment to building safer and healthier communities throughout the municipal corporation's jurisdiction.
The authorities anticipate that sustained community engagement and public education will contribute meaningfully to reducing dog bite incidents and elevating health awareness standards across Cyberabad.
