Chief Secretary Directs District Officials on Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika Programme Implementation

Hyderabad: On Saturday, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao issued directives to district collectors aimed at guaranteeing effective implementation of programmes under the Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika scheme.
The Chief Secretary examined preparatory measures for celebrations centred on youth, sports and tourism, slated to run from May 18 through May 23. Participating in a teleconference conducted from the Secretariat were Special Chief Secretaries Jayesh Ranjan and Vani Prasad.
During the discussion, Ramakrishna Rao outlined the government's rationale for launching these initiatives, stating they aim to foster sportsmanship, physical fitness, civic consciousness and job prospects for young people. He simultaneously stressed the need for comprehensive promotional efforts highlighting Telangana's tourism attractions.
The Chief Secretary mandated that sports competitions be held across three administrative tiers—state, district and mandal levels. He further stipulated that district authorities involve elected representatives, athletes and youth-based organisations in every event.
A signature component of the week-long celebration will be a 5K Run themed "Fit Telangana," scheduled for May 18 at state and district headquarters. Ramakrishna Rao also called for walkathons, yoga classes and allied wellness activities to be conducted throughout mandal centres.
The celebrations are expected to highlight Telangana's tourism capabilities on a broader platform, according to the Chief Secretary. As part of the festivities, all state-operated museums will offer free admission throughout the week-long period.
Beyond the youth and sports agenda, Ramakrishna Rao utilised the teleconference to examine the status of grain procurement initiatives underway in various districts. He cautioned collectors against allowing procurement delays and emphasised the importance of safeguarding farmers from difficulties.
Ramakrishna Rao underscored that district officials must adhere strictly to procurement protocols established by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He urged district administrations to implement all requisite steps for uninterrupted procurement processes statewide.
