The Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI) NCR convened its annual general meeting on July 3rd, 2026 at The Leela Palace in New Delhi, drawing together senior leadership, governing council representatives, committee heads, and developers from across the National Capital Region and adjacent areas.

Under the guidance of President Vishal Gupta and Secretary Nikhil Hawelia, the gathering examined accomplishments from the preceding year while charting a course focused on policy advocacy, environmental stewardship, workforce development, regulatory modernization, and business facilitation.

The session featured presentations on critical industry concerns. Student researcher Ms. Aarna Gupta of Vasant Valley School addressed construction worker safety, occupational health standards, and environmental protection measures. Financial and legal expert Mr. Abhishek Gupta, a Fellow Chartered Accountant, delivered insights on joint development agreements, examining taxation implications, RERA compliance, property valuation, stamp duty considerations, and commercial structuring frameworks.

Members reviewed progress on several key initiatives undertaken throughout the year. A collaborative research project with IIT Delhi investigating air pollution and construction practices is anticipated to yield evidence-based recommendations for cleaner construction methodologies and pollution reduction strategies. The organization's tree-planting initiative, skill development programming, youth-focused activities, and localized projects across various NCR zones were also evaluated during the proceedings.

The assembly engaged in substantive discussion regarding persistent regional challenges, including air quality management under GRAP restrictions, RERA implementation issues, taxation and legal complexities, insolvency matters, building approvals, and zone-specific operational obstacles. CREDAI NCR determined to pursue dialogue with both national and state government bodies to develop pragmatic, equitable policy solutions.

Deliberations extended to CREDAI's national five-point strategic vision for developed India, encompassing large-scale workforce training initiatives, evidence-based planning approaches, environmental restoration through afforestation, reimagining housing affordability, and streamlining business operations.

Gupta emphasized that real estate functions as a significant economic engine and employment generator for India, underscoring CREDAI NCR's dedication to responsible development practices, environmental protection, technological integration, worker protection, and constructive partnership with government institutions to establish a transparent, efficient, and growth-supporting regulatory framework.

Hawelia highlighted that CREDAI NCR's mission transcends member representation, extending to policy formulation, knowledge dissemination, and collaborative engagement with government and other stakeholders to fortify the sector. He noted that recurring seasonal construction restrictions have diminished migrant worker participation in the region, prompting the organization to balance environmental reforms and awareness with creating mutually beneficial conditions for the workforce.

The meeting concluded with collective commitment from attendees to advance the real estate sector collaboratively, foster sustainable urban expansion, enhance business ease, and contribute substantively toward realizing the vision of a developed India by 2047.
