Hyderabad Court Restricts Media Coverage Linking Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar to Son's Case

A Hyderabad civil court has issued an order placing restrictions on media coverage related to a case involving the son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
The court has prohibited all media outlets from establishing any connection between Bandi Sanjay Kumar and the proceedings. The directive applies comprehensively across digital media platforms, satellite television networks, and social media channels.
Under the court's instructions, media organisations are barred from publishing or broadcasting any defamatory material pertaining to the matter. Social media platforms face similar restrictions on disseminating such content.
The court has mandated that all previously published or circulated material related to the case be taken down from media platforms. Additionally, television channels and social media outlets have been instructed to refrain from referencing Bandi Sanjay Kumar's name in connection with the case involving Bandi Bageerath.
The court characterised the order as a blanket injunction designed to safeguard the dignity, privacy, and legal interests of the parties involved. According to the court's reasoning, the measure is intended to mitigate media trials and prevent sensationalist reporting practices.
The court cautioned that breaches of the order would result in legal consequences under the Contempt of Courts Act and other relevant legislation.
