Congress Initiates Chhatron Ki Goonj Movement for Student Welfare and Education Reform

Hyderabad witnessed the unveiling of the Chhatron Ki Goonj campaign on Thursday, when the All India Congress Committee launched what it describes as a countrywide movement centred on student welfare, educational transformation, and employment prospects. The initiative was formally introduced at the Somajiguda Press Club.

Dr. Vikrant Bhuria, national chairman of Adivasi Congress, graced the occasion as the principal guest. The event drew participation from Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Mahesh Kumar Goud, TPCC vice-president and Government Whip Dr. Balmoor Venkat, alongside NEET aspirants and other attendees.

Campaign materials and posters for the Chhatron Ki Goonj programme were distributed by the assembled leadership, who also detailed the roadmap for rolling out the initiative across the nation.

Addressing Government Policies and Student Grievances

Speaking to journalists, Dr. Bhuria levelled accusations against the BJP-administered Central government, contending that its policy framework has generated instability affecting students, youth, and educational institutions. He further criticised the administration for disappointing learners and jobless young adults, particularly through instances of competitive examination paper leaks.

Bhuria highlighted that Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has spearheaded efforts to mobilise nationwide backing for students and youth grappling with these systemic challenges. The Congress party, he stated, intends to conduct Chhatron Ki Goonj events in prominent urban centres throughout India. He extended an invitation to students and unemployed youth to engage with the campaign by voicing their grievances, recommendations, and personal narratives.

Beyond Politics: A Youth-Centric Vision

Dr. Balmoor Venkat characterised the Chhatron Ki Goonj initiative as transcending partisan politics, instead representing a grassroots movement dedicated to securing the future of India's younger generation. The Congress position, he elaborated, rests on the conviction that India can establish itself as a world leader only by honouring the aspirations held by students and youth.

The party remains committed to advancing education policy reforms, expanding employment pathways, and ensuring equitable educational access, Dr. Venkat asserted. He called upon citizens from all walks of life to rally behind the nationwide campaign, applying pressure on the Central government to implement substantive reforms.
