CMC Chief Reviews Civic Concerns in Doolapally Ward Inspection

Hyderabad — Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner G. Srijana conducted an on-ground inspection of Doolapally ward on Monday, engaging with residents and local welfare associations to evaluate pressing civic challenges as part of her systematic "One Ward Every Day" initiative.
The visit marked the sixth day of the programme and covered Doolapally ward within Kompally Circle of Quthbullapur Zone. The Commissioner held discussions with community members and Resident Welfare Associations to understand ground-level concerns affecting the locality.
Residents voiced multiple grievances spanning sanitation, infrastructure maintenance, and engineering services. A significant concern involved uncontrolled garbage burning at the nearby transfer station, prompting calls for increased deployment of Swachh Auto vehicles for regular waste management operations.
The upkeep of Doolapally graveyard emerged as another priority issue, with residents requesting a dedicated watchman and clarity on service charge structures.
Infrastructure and Environmental Challenges
Drainage infrastructure presented widespread problems, with residents reporting leakages and irregular sewer lines. Mahalaxmi Colony residents specifically requested new drainage connections to address recurring issues. Additional concerns included potholes in Maisammaguda and inadequate street illumination across the ward.
Citizens also raised a proposal regarding a sewage treatment facility at Malla Reddy Institutions to mitigate pollution affecting Lingayya Cheruvu water body.
Road congestion along the Doolapally–Shapur stretch was flagged as a critical concern, with residents seeking expansion of the thoroughfare and measures to manage the stray dog population in the area.
Community members additionally requested protective measures and development of park facilities in Mahalaxmi Colony, along with construction of basic amenities including a room and borewell at the SC graveyard.
Official Response and Next Steps
The Commissioner instructed department heads and the Deputy Commissioner to treat all identified issues as urgent priorities. She emphasized the need for inter-departmental coordination and adherence to completion timelines for ongoing works.
The inspection underscored the Commissioner's commitment to direct citizen engagement and on-site verification of reported problems.
