Uttar Pradesh Offers 50% Bus Fare Discount for NEET Test Takers

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has rolled out a 50 percent reduction in bus fares across the state transport network for students taking the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test on June 21.

The initiative was unveiled during a video conference-based administrative review examining exam readiness across the state. The measure aims to ease travel costs for the roughly 3.5 lakh aspirants scheduled to sit for the test across 59 districts in the state.

Candidates will be eligible for the half-price concession on Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation buses by showing their NEET admit cards at the time of travel.

Acknowledging that many test-takers will need to journey to examination centres outside their home districts, the Chief Minister has instructed local administrations to arrange temporary accommodation for students lacking suitable places to stay during the examination period.

The Chief Minister has emphasized the need for the test to proceed with complete fairness and openness. He has directed all district-level officials to strictly follow the protocols established by the National Testing Agency, underlining the critical importance of preserving the examination's credibility and procedural integrity.

In addition, authorities have been tasked with monitoring digital platforms and social networks for the spread of false information or unsubstantiated claims about the examination. Officials are to respond swiftly and decisively to any such instances.

The state administration has pledged its commitment to creating a supportive, secure, and well-organized setting for the successful execution of the NEET examination throughout Uttar Pradesh.
