Telangana Government Funds Critical Heart Surgery for Newborn Through CM Prajavani

Hyderabad: A newborn from LB Nagar has received critical cardiac intervention after the Telangana Government committed ₹8 lakh towards her medical treatment through the CM Prajavani programme.

Baby Gracy, the daughter of K. Anjaneyulu who works as a daily wage labourer, was born with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), a serious congenital heart defect requiring immediate surgical correction. Following her diagnosis, the infant was hospitalised for specialist care.

When the family explored treatment options at a private corporate hospital, they learned that the required corrective surgery would entail substantial costs beyond their financial capacity. Faced with this crisis, Anjaneyulu turned to the CM Prajavani programme for assistance.

The programme's team swiftly responded to the appeal, arranging for baby Gracy's admission to Star Hospital and coordinating the cardiac surgical intervention. Health Department officials were engaged to facilitate the necessary financial support.

The government subsequently approved ₹8 lakh under the scheme to fully cover the treatment expenses, allowing the medical team to proceed with the surgery without imposing any financial strain on the family.

State officials attributed the successful outcome to coordinated action and rapid response from multiple departments, which ensured the infant received urgent medical care without delay. The case underscores how the CM Prajavani programme functions to provide relief during medical emergencies and financial crises affecting vulnerable families.
