Adani Foundation Partners with Andhra Pradesh on P4 Anti-Poverty Initiative in Kuppam

Kuppam (Andhra Pradesh): The Adani Foundation, the socio-economic development wing of the Adani Group, has become a Margdarshi (guide and enabling partner) under Andhra Pradesh's P4 initiative, working to uplift economically disadvantaged families in Kuppam Mandal of Chittoor district. Through this collaboration, the Foundation will help households across the region build sustainable income streams via locally appropriate business ventures and enhanced engagement with state welfare programmes.
The P4 (Public-Private-People Partnership) programme represents the state government's principal strategy for accelerating poverty reduction by linking underprivileged families with mentors, institutions and organisations capable of facilitating durable livelihood creation.
Titled "Transforming Lives Together: A P4 Model for Holistic Progress of Bangaru Kutumbams in Kuppam Mandal," the initiative encompasses all 29 Gram Panchayats and urban clusters in the area. Its core pillars include enterprise establishment, money management education and expanded connections to welfare schemes. The Andhra Pradesh Mahila Abhivruddhi Society (APMAS) serves as the implementation partner.
The Adani Foundation maintains operations across roughly 150 villages throughout Andhra Pradesh, concentrating on education, healthcare and nutrition, sustainable livelihoods, climate resilience and grassroots development. This partnership amplifies these efforts by bolstering state initiatives aimed at enabling economically vulnerable households to achieve financial independence.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited the initiative in his Assembly constituency of Kuppam, where he distributed sewing machines, portable welding equipment and embroidery machines to beneficiary families. He commended the Adani Foundation's comprehensive development methodology, characterising it as a realisation of the government's P4 Zero Poverty Initiative vision.
"I commend the Adani Foundation for its dedication to fostering leadership capabilities and advancing sustainable livelihoods for Bangaru Kutumbams," the Chief Minister said. "This programme exemplifies collective social commitment, generating meaningful benefit for our community. I extend my appreciation to the Adani Foundation for this outstanding contribution to equitable development."
Dr. Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, conveyed her perspective through a written message: "Genuine transformation originates within households. When families possess the capacity, backing and belief to create sustainable livelihoods, they forge stronger futures extending beyond themselves to benefit future generations. Our collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh government through the P4 initiative represents our mutual dedication to strengthening the self-reliance of Bangaru Kutumbams."
Participating households will obtain income-generating assets calibrated to their capabilities and regional economic circumstances. These resources encompass small retail operations, agricultural animals, sewing equipment and comparable small-scale enterprise assistance intended to produce reliable earnings.
Bengaru Mitras, community-based mentors who have undergone specialised preparation, will accompany each household. These mentors will facilitate business strategy development, financial capability building, venture establishment and connection to pertinent government initiatives.
The scheme integrates grassroots mentorship, small business support and welfare programme accessibility to facilitate household income security. Designed for expansion, the framework aligns with the state's objective of tackling poverty through community-centred methodologies adaptable throughout Andhra Pradesh.
