Hyderabad City Police have arrested ten suspects in the killing of Bommana Yavan alias Akhil, a 21-year-old engineering student, whose death occurred in the Chilkalguda jurisdiction earlier this month.

The incident unfolded on the evening of May 7 in Indira Nagar Colony, Medibavi. According to investigators, approximately ten assailants descended on Yavan with bladed weapons, inflicting grievous wounds to his neck and multiple areas of his body. The attackers subsequently fled the scene.

Following the incident, the victim's father Srinivas registered a formal complaint at Chilkalguda police station. Authorities initiated proceedings under applicable provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched a detailed probe into the circumstances.

Investigators determined that personal animosity stemming from romantic entanglements provided the backdrop for the assault. The accused had allegedly harbored a vendetta rooted in matters of the heart, with the attack appearing to be a premeditated act rather than a spontaneous occurrence.

Police identified Allaboina Sai Kiran, also known as Sai, as the primary perpetrator orchestrating the violence. Authorities revealed that Yavan maintained a relationship with a woman named Chandrika. Sai Kiran, who reportedly aspired to marry Chandrika, developed deep resentment toward Yavan as a result.

Investigators uncovered evidence that the accused group convened multiple times prior to the attack, monitoring the victim's whereabouts and coordinating their actions before executing the assault.

Law enforcement secured nine adult suspects and took one minor into custody. Officers recovered a knife, garments bearing bloodstains, an electric scooter, and several mobile devices believed to have been utilized in perpetrating the crime.

The operation was overseen by Secunderabad Zone DCP Rakshitha Krishna Murthy, Additional DCP J Narsaiah, and ACP Shashank Reddy.

Authorities have issued a public advisory cautioning against retaliatory violence, threats, and the dissemination of inflammatory material through digital platforms. Police stated they would enforce stringent measures against any actions threatening communal peace and tranquility.
