Hyderabad Police Reunite 85-Year-Old Man With Family After Days Missing

Hyderabad police have successfully traced an 85-year-old man who had been missing for several days and reunited him with his family members.
The missing person was identified as Shaik Ismail, a resident of Khadri Bagh in Amberpet. On May 22, he left his residence to attend evening Namaz but failed to return home.
Two days later, residents in the Chilkalguda locality spotted the elderly man roaming without direction. Police subsequently took him into their protective custody.
When first questioned, Shaik Ismail was unable to furnish complete details about his address. Through patient interrogation, however, he managed to recall that he resided in Moula Ali and that his son worked as an auto driver.
To aid in locating his family, police released his information through local media outlets and initiated ground-level investigations. Under the supervision of Chilkalguda Division ACP K. Shashank Reddy and Station House Officer V. Ramakrishna, Sub-Inspector Chandraiah and Home Guard Officer Pitchaiah escorted the elderly man to the Moula Ali neighbourhood.
The officers showed him to local auto drivers operating in the area, who recognised him and promptly contacted his sons, Shaik Saleem and Shaik Kaleem.
Concurrently, Shaik Kaleem had approached Amberpet Police Station to register a missing person complaint for his father. Upon learning that Chilkalguda Police had already located him, he notified Amberpet Police and withdrew the complaint.
The elderly man's family members subsequently arrived at Chilkalguda Police Station and brought him home safely.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police commended the officers involved for their swift response and committed efforts in successfully reuniting the family.
