Hyderabad Police Dismantle Interstate Robbery Network, Arrest Four Including Repeat Offender

Hyderabad police have successfully dismantled an interstate robbery network operating across state lines, apprehending three adults and one juvenile in the process. The breakthrough came after authorities investigated the abduction, assault and robbery of a construction worker in Secunderabad.

The primary suspect in the case is Darla Nehemiah, known by the alias Brucelee, aged 30. Police records indicate he carries an extensive criminal history spanning three states, with 65 cases registered against him across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

On June 22, the gang allegedly targeted labourer C. Raj Kumar from Musheerabad. The victim was kidnapped, beaten, and relieved of his mobile phone and Rs.6,000. The accused then left him abandoned near the Alugaddabavi Railway Under Bridge. The victim subsequently approached Chilkalguda Police Station to lodge a formal complaint.

Alongside Brucelee, authorities apprehended Dara Ashwanth, 27, and Nithin Francis, also known as Bablu, 22. A minor was separately taken into custody in relation to the same incident.

According to investigators, Brucelee had deliberately recruited individuals he encountered while incarcerated, establishing structured criminal networks to execute robberies and burglaries across the region. He had previously been detained under preventive detention provisions.

During their search operations, police recovered the stolen mobile phone belonging to the victim, a Honda Activa motorcycle believed to have been used in the crime, and Rs.2.25 lakh in currency. Officers also seized another mobile phone connected to a separate theft investigation at Meerpet Police Station.

Authorities further revealed that Brucelee had engaged in criminal activity in Anantapur, Alwal and Meerpet following his recent release from detention.

The three adult suspects were presented before the X Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate in Secunderabad, who ordered their remand to judicial custody. The juvenile was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board for appropriate proceedings.
