Hyderabad: The Charminar police have obtained convictions against two individuals found guilty of obstructing public spaces near the historic Charminar monument.

The I Special Judicial Magistrate Court at Gandhi Bhavan handed down guilty verdicts in both cases that were pursued by the Charminar police station.

In the first case, Maher Unnisa, 46, from Khilwath, was convicted under Sections 66(C) and 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for impeding the movement of pedestrians and vehicles. The court imposed a sentence of one day's simple imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 100.

A second conviction came against Syed Abdul Amair, 26, also a Khilwath resident, who was found guilty under Sections 27/76 and 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for unlawfully occupying road space designated for public use near Charminar. He received a sentence of two days' simple imprisonment and was ordered to pay Rs 100 in fines.

Both cases were detected and investigated by Sub-Inspector K. Raj Sheker and Constable M. Mahender (PC-3248). Following their convictions, both offenders were remanded to judicial custody.

The Charminar police have reiterated their commitment to enforcing strict action against encroachments and obstructions through the digital e-petty enforcement mechanism. Officials stated that these enforcement measures are designed to maintain clear pedestrian pathways, protect public safety, and preserve unobstructed emergency access routes throughout the Charminar locality.
