Hyderabad Police have made a significant breakthrough in an ongoing two-wheeler theft investigation, with the Charminar Police Station's crime unit apprehending a suspect linked to multiple scooter thefts and recovering three stolen vehicles in the process.

The arrested individual has been identified as Mohammed Nayeem Khan, also known as Mohammed Salman or simply Salman, a 26-year-old Rapido driver from Sheri Galli in King Kothi. Authorities say the suspect has confessed to stealing three two-wheelers from localities falling under both Charminar and Narayanaguda police station jurisdictions.

The investigation began after police received reliable intelligence regarding a pattern of vehicle thefts occurring across multiple areas of the city. Acting on this information, the crime team initiated surveillance operations and systematically reviewed CCTV recordings from various locations. Investigators also worked with informants to monitor the suspect's movements and track his social media activity on Instagram.

On April 28, 2026, police intercepted the suspect near Madina X Road and took him into custody for questioning. During interrogation, he admitted to the thefts and provided information leading to the recovery of the stolen vehicles.

The three recovered scooters—all Honda Activa models in green, brown, and black—have been seized and are being processed through the legal system. The operation was overseen by Charminar Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police P. Chandrashekhar, with Charminar Inspector T. Rambabu, Detective Inspector K. Narsing Rathod, Detective Sub-Inspector G. Satish Reddy, and other crime team members participating in the investigation.

Police have indicated that further inquiries are underway to determine whether the suspect is connected to additional vehicle theft cases in the city.
