A third-year BTech student has been killed in a brutal stabbing incident in Chilakalguda, Secunderabad, sending shockwaves through the neighbourhood. The victim, 23-year-old Yavan, was attacked by a group of assailants on a public street late Thursday evening.

Investigators believe the killing may be connected to a romantic relationship. According to police, the victim had been involved with a girl from Sitaphalmandi, and family members of the girl are suspected of orchestrating the attack. The girl's brother Paramesh, her brother-in-law Sai, and four others are believed to have planned the murder after discovering the relationship.

Yavan's family members reported that he sustained 17 stab wounds during the assault, with injuries concentrated on his head and neck. The family alleges that six unidentified individuals first attacked Yavan inside his home while he was watching television, then pursued him onto the street where the fatal stabbing occurred.

Police have detained four suspects thus far and are actively searching for two additional accused. Chilakalguda police have registered a case and initiated a formal investigation into the incident.

The killing has sparked significant unrest in the area. Yavan's relatives staged a protest outside the girl's residence in Sitaphalmandi, demanding justice and attempting to enter the premises. Police personnel prevented family members from breaking through the locked gate.

An audio recording has emerged that may prove significant to the investigation. In the recording, the girl allegedly warns Yavan that her family members were planning to attack him. She reportedly also mentions that relatives were pressuring her to file a harassment complaint against him and to sign documents. The girl's brother-in-law is allegedly mentioned in the recording as having orchestrated the planned assault.

Additionally, one of the accused, Sai Yadav, is reported to have posted a selfie status on Snapchat following the murder. Investigators are expected to examine the audio clip as a critical piece of evidence.

Yavan's family maintains that the relationship had lasted four years, though they state he had distanced himself from the girl and ceased contact approximately one year ago. Despite the separation, the family claims the accused conducted surveillance before executing the attack.

The victim's relatives have called for the girl to appear before police and provide a detailed account of events surrounding the murder.
