BRS Calls for Greater Local Representation in Yadadri Temple Authority

Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi has raised concerns about the governance structure of the Yadadri Temple Development Authority, pointing to an insufficient presence of representatives from the Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri region.

Former MLC Karne Prabhakar articulated the party's position to members of the press on Wednesday, contending that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's administration has failed to ensure adequate local participation in the authority's composition. Prabhakar emphasized that those who willingly transferred their property and facilitated the temple's construction merit a voice in its governance, describing their current exclusion as regrettable.

The BRS leader highlighted the contributions of the preceding administration under former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, crediting that government with elevating the Yadadri temple to prominence as a significant pilgrimage destination. According to Prabhakar, the temple development initiative required an investment of approximately ₹1,800 crore.

Prabhakar's remarks align with similar criticism voiced by Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, who has also challenged the government's approach to constituting the authority.

The BRS has specifically urged the state government to extend representation within the Temple Development Authority to community members, respected local figures, and landholding families whose properties were instrumental in facilitating the temple project.
