BJP Veterans' Group Presents Welfare Demands to Telangana Governor

Hyderabad: A delegation representing the BJP's Ex-Servicemen Cell submitted a detailed memorandum to Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla during a meeting at Lok Bhavan on Saturday, pressing for several measures to support retired military personnel.

The group outlined multiple concerns affecting veterans, including protracted delays in ex-gratia disbursements and the need for a dedicated Sainik Corporation in the state. The delegation also flagged concerns regarding the management of Armed Forces Flag Day collections.

To strengthen healthcare infrastructure, the delegation called for the establishment of an ECHS polyclinic in either LB Nagar or Kanchanbagh. This facility, they argued, would enhance medical access for former service members and their dependents.

The veterans' representatives also sought to expand employment pathways for retired defence personnel, requesting suitable placement opportunities and appropriate posting assignments within banking and government sectors.

The memorandum included calls for state-wide recognition of military sacrifice through the construction of war memorials at the district level across Telangana. The delegation further recommended the activation of District Ex-Servicemen Committees headed by District Collectors, in line with existing administrative directives.

Governor Shukla responded positively to the presentation, pledging to escalate the concerns with relevant government departments. He instructed state officials to thoroughly review the memorandum's contents and liaise with appropriate agencies to address the raised issues.

The delegation was led by Lieutenant Colonel (Dr.) Sunkara Srinivasa Rao (Retd), who serves as Convenor of the Telangana BJP Ex-Servicemen Cell. Accompanying him were Co-Convenor Subedar Major Rajender Singh (Retd), Subedar Major PSN Swamy (Retd), Subedar Neeraj Dubey (Retd), and Havaldar Dubashi Sagar (Retd).
