BJP State Chief to Tour Telangana Agriculture Markets Over Procurement Concerns

Hyderabad: Beginning May 25, BJP State President N Ramchander Rao will embark on a three-day visit across Telangana to engage with farmers grappling with delays in grain procurement under the Congress government.
Rao contended that the state administration has not fulfilled its obligation to purchase grains from cultivators, despite Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's commitment to acquire all grain produced by farmers. The BJP leader charged the Congress administration with betraying farmers and mismanaging the procurement apparatus.
The party indicated that Rao, accompanied by local Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly, and Members of Legislative Council, will tour multiple agriculture market yards to obtain direct insights from farmers regarding procurement challenges. The delegation plans to engage with cultivators to comprehend the hardships they encounter when attempting to sell their agricultural output.
The itinerary commences at the Tandur Agriculture Market Yard. Subsequent stops include market yards across Gajwel, Bhongir, Warangal, Bhupalpally, Kataram, Manthani, and Peddapalli districts.
On the opening day of the journey, Rao will be in Gajwel. The following day, May 26, he will remain overnight in Bhupalpally following visits to adjoining market yards.
The final leg of the tour concludes on May 27 with visits to Manthani and Peddapalli, with Rao scheduled to overnight in Peddapalli.
According to the BJP, the inspection is designed to evaluate procurement facilities at agriculture market yards and highlight grievances of farmers throughout Telangana. The party maintains that delays in procurement are inflicting hardship on farmers during the current procurement period.
