A technical failure of the Bhu Bharati portal has brought land registration services to a standstill across Telangana, leaving hundreds of transactions in limbo.

The newly operational portal experienced a server crash beginning Tuesday morning, halting critical processes including property sales, purchases, and mutation registrations throughout the state. The disruption prevented officials from processing any registrations during the entire day.

Citizens visiting sub-registrar offices faced extended waiting periods as a result of the outage. Prospective buyers and sellers who had travelled considerable distances encountered particular hardship due to the service interruption.

The technical failure also disabled related functions such as mutation applications, appointment slot reservations, and the issuance of Encumbrance Certificates. With the software non-functional, the property transfer mechanism remained completely blocked.

Revenue department officials attributed the failure to potential causes including excessive server load or underlying technical glitches, though they refrained from identifying the precise reason for the crash.

Technical teams from the revenue department have been engaged in restoration efforts, with authorities suggesting that normal operations may resume in the near term. Officials have requested public patience during the recovery period.

However, frustration has mounted among visitors to registration offices, with many citing recurrent technical problems with the platform. Public demands have emerged for the government to enhance the portal's infrastructure and system capacity to prevent future incidents.

The incident has intensified apprehensions regarding the stability and dependability of the Bhu Bharati system among both citizens and officials.
