Bhatti Vikramarka Sets June 12 Deadline for Gurukul Schools to Meet Academic Year Requirements

Hyderabad — With the new academic session set to commence on June 12, Telangana's Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has mandated that all preparatory work for Gurukul schools must be completed before that date.
During a review meeting held at the Khammam Collectorate, Bhatti Vikramarka met with district collector Divakar TS, additional collector Dr P. Srija, Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt, and other officials to assess readiness across the district's residential educational institutions.
Infrastructure and Admissions Focus
The Deputy Chief Minister stressed the importance of boosting student enrollment in Gurukul institutions year after year. He directed officials to undertake a comprehensive examination of residential schools where student seats remain unfilled, asking them to identify root causes and implement remedial measures without delay.
Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized that all repair and infrastructure development work should be finalized during the summer break. He also instructed authorities to make diet charges and menu information easily visible at every residential school.
Oversight and Health Measures
To strengthen governance, Bhatti Vikramarka directed district-level officers to assume responsibility as nodal officials for Gurukul institutions, requiring them to conduct monthly school visits and file inspection reports accordingly. Additionally, district officials were tasked with regular inspections and proper record maintenance.
Monthly health examinations for residential students have been made mandatory, with doctors assigned to conduct these check-ups. Officials were also instructed to submit a comprehensive report on Gurukul schools operating from rented facilities, with the understanding that repair work must proceed uninterrupted.
Young India Projects and Timeline
Accelerating construction of five Young India Integrated School buildings currently in progress forms part of the broader agenda. Authorities have been asked to develop preliminary strategies for SC, ST, BC, and Minority Gurukul institutions housed in rented buildings.
Regional coordinators must complete inspections of all schools within the next 12 days, submitting findings based on a standardized checklist. Ensuring timely supply of textbooks and uniforms before the academic year begins has been identified as a critical priority.
Bhatti Vikramarka underscored that the Telangana government's substantial investment in education means that lapses in this sector will not be overlooked.
