Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar leveled sharp criticism at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday, contending that the Congress government has engineered a CBI controversy to shift public focus away from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled May 10 rally and the BJP's recent electoral successes.

The remarks came following Sanjay's inspection of a paddy procurement facility in Kazipur, located in Karimnagar district. At the centre, he observed that farmers endured considerable suffering owing to extended queues, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient basic services.

Sanjay further claimed that intermediaries were systematically depriving farmers through various deductions and commission charges. He asserted that despite assistance provided by the Central government, the state administration had neglected to accelerate the pace of procurement operations.

Questioning the government's response to irregularities in power sector acquisitions, Sanjay also suggested that the Congress administration was reluctant to take action against BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He challenged Revanth Reddy regarding a purported communication to the Centre, asking whether the Chief Minister would concede his inability to apprehend KCR.

"Will you acknowledge that you lack the capacity to arrest KCR? You must explicitly state that fact in your correspondence to the Centre. Should Revanth Reddy confess his own weakness and communicate this to the Centre, the authorities will certainly address the CBI matter," Sanjay stated.

The BJP leader characterized the Congress administration as ineffectual, asserting it had deceived citizens and mismanaged Central welfare allocations. He maintained that the CBI inquiry represented an effort by the government to evade scrutiny regarding farmer hardship, procurement bottlenecks, and questions of political responsibility.
