Azharuddin Emphasizes Need for Comprehensive Minority Empowerment at National Conference

Mohammed Azharuddin, Telangana's Minorities Welfare Minister, advocated for strengthened initiatives to empower minority communities at the Conference of State Minorities Commissions held at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The gathering assembled key figures including Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Minority Affairs George Kurian, representatives from Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, along with senior bureaucrats and members of the National Commission for Minorities.
Addressing the assembly, Azharuddin outlined that effective minority empowerment hinges on robust backing for educational programmes, skill enhancement initiatives, job creation, business opportunities, and social cohesion across India. He emphasized that minority youth aspire to access quality education, equal treatment, respect, and improved prospects while remaining within the nation's constitutional framework.
Azharuddin stressed the importance of development that benefits all sections of society and improved coordination among various welfare agencies. He also highlighted Telangana's own welfare schemes targeting minority communities and young people, commending Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's emphasis on education, social justice, and youth-focused programmes.
The conference concluded with participants deliberating on ways to strengthen collaboration between state-level minorities commissions and national authorities. Officials explored strategies for more efficient delivery of minority welfare schemes throughout the country.
