Hansi's Sisai village has become home to a significant step forward in India's drone technology ambitions, with AITMC Ventures Limited (AVPL International) opening Phase-1 of its Drone City Haryana initiative. The ₹80 crore project represents a major development within the broader "Future Tech Park Haryana" framework and has secured ₹58.51 crore in backing from the Haryana Government through the Haryana Enterprise and Employment Policy-2020.

The inaugural event on May 20, 2026 brought together Haryana Cabinet Minister Shri Krishan Kumar Bedi alongside former Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu, government administrators, business executives, defence sector representatives, and young entrepreneurs from across the state.

Spanning approximately 11.5 acres, the facility is designed to function as a comprehensive ecosystem encompassing drone production, component manufacturing, testing and research capabilities, workforce development, and business incubation. The initiative seeks to establish Haryana as a centre of excellence for domestically-produced drone technology, aerospace advancement, defence sector innovation, artificial intelligence applications, and contemporary skill-building programmes.

The project reflects India's strategic emphasis on developing homegrown drone capabilities, agricultural automation, modern production methods, defence innovation, and employment creation aligned with the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat frameworks.

"This launch represents a significant achievement for our state and demonstrates India's commitment to technology-driven progress," Minister Bedi stated at the event. "Projects of this nature create pathways for young people, foster business creation, and establish Haryana as a destination for cutting-edge technology and drone manufacturing."

Industry Collaborations Take Shape

The inauguration ceremony featured the signing of several strategic partnerships involving companies such as Aero Drone, iQuantara, OSM, and Wow Green. These agreements encompass defence-focused drone systems, unmanned aerial vehicle technology, electric vehicle manufacturing, energy storage solutions, and agricultural drone applications. The collaborations are intended to foster a unified ecosystem for production and innovation spanning defence capabilities, intelligent transportation, renewable energy, and farming-related drone applications.

New Entrepreneurship Initiative for Scheduled Castes

The Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance & Development Corporation unveiled the "500 Drone Udhami Scheme" during the proceedings, designed to provide Scheduled Caste youth with pathways into drone entrepreneurship. The programme includes pilot certification, technical instruction, and training in agricultural drone deployment. Through this initiative, 500 young people will receive education and be linked with independent business and technology-based employment prospects.

The gathering included demonstrations of drone capabilities in action, displays of emerging technologies, networking sessions for startups, and presentations detailing the complete development roadmap for the Drone City Haryana initiative.

Comprehensive Technology Ecosystem

The facility will integrate drone assembly operations, parts manufacturing, innovation and testing laboratories, pilot certification programmes, defence and agricultural applications, alongside advanced programmes in artificial intelligence, robotics, and emerging technologies.

The project's foundation stone was placed by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on September 8, 2025, underscoring the government's dedication to fostering industrial advancement, modern manufacturing capabilities, and employment creation for young people.

"This initiative emerging from a rural setting demonstrates the transformation underway across India's villages," former Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu remarked. "AVPL International's commitment to equipping young people with drone capabilities and contemporary competencies is noteworthy and will drive innovation and economic development in Haryana."

Dr. Preet Sandhu, Founder and Managing Director of AITMC Ventures Limited, elaborated on the vision: "Drone City Haryana represents our long-term commitment to establishing a complete ecosystem for drone production, aerospace progress, education, and new business creation. We are committed to furnishing youth with employment possibilities while bolstering India's capacity in indigenous drone manufacturing and advanced technology sectors. Our objective is to position Haryana as India's premier centre for drone innovation and advanced technology manufacturing."

The initiative is projected to provide employment, business creation, technical education, manufacturing roles, and related opportunities within the drone sector to approximately 800 youth while simultaneously enhancing India's domestic drone production and aerospace manufacturing capabilities.
