14th Australia India Youth Dialogue Inaugurated in Hyderabad, Emphasises Indo-Pacific Partnership

Hyderabad witnessed the inauguration of the 14th Australia India Youth Dialogue on Friday, marking a significant milestone in bilateral engagement between the two nations. The launch ceremony at Taj Deccan in Banjara Hills drew participants spanning government, industry, academia, startups, media, innovation sectors, and civil society organisations.
Australian High Commissioner to India Philip Green characterised India as a cornerstone in Australia's approach to the Indo-Pacific, underscoring the nation's expanding economic and geopolitical significance. He noted that India's trajectory as the world's fastest-growing major economy had become fundamental to Australia's foreign policy considerations and economic strategy.
Green articulated that India's influence on the global stage was now indispensable, stating that meaningful engagement with India was essential for any nation seeking to shape international outcomes. He emphasised that the India-Australia partnership rested on three pillars: strategic alignment, economic complementarity, and robust interpersonal connections, with both countries increasingly recognising each other as essential stakeholders in regional affairs.
The 2026 edition will concentrate on leadership development across four key dimensions of change—technological, industrial, economic, and cultural. Thematic areas will encompass economic and innovation frameworks, industrial and resource management, governance and institutional structures, and human and cultural dimensions.
Jayesh Ranjan, Telangana's Special Chief Secretary for IT and Industries, attended the event and reaffirmed the state's commitment to catalysing India's sustained economic expansion. He expressed enthusiasm for expanded cooperation between Australia and India in technology, innovation, and educational initiatives.
Anthony Vipin Das, India Co-Chair of the Australia India Youth Dialogue, underscored the critical role of grassroots diplomacy in fortifying bilateral relations. He highlighted that while formal agreements and commercial arrangements opened doors for partnership, the genuine strengthening of ties between the two nations ultimately depended on human-level connections and mutual understanding.
Organisers indicated that AIYD 2026 seeks to establish fresh avenues for cooperation among the next generation of leaders from both countries, enabling them to collaboratively address pressing regional and global issues.
