AnTeRa Restaurant Receives 83% Hygiene Rating in CMC Food Safety Inspection

Hyderabad — The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation's food safety inspection of AnTeRa, located in Madeenaguda, resulted in a hygiene rating of 83 percent, with inspectors identifying multiple areas requiring improvement alongside several commendable practices.

The establishment earned 87 marks out of a possible 106 points during the assessment. The inspection was conducted as part of the civic body's broader food safety surveillance initiative across the Cyberabad region.

Inspectors documented several positive operational measures at the restaurant. Food handlers complied with safety protocols by wearing hairnets, gloves, and aprons during food preparation. The management maintained documentation of regular pest control services, and the premises prominently displayed its FSSAI licence. Additionally, the facility had access to hot water for proper utensil cleaning and sanitisation.

However, the inspection revealed significant compliance shortcomings. Medical fitness records for food handlers were absent, and the restaurant could not produce water testing reports for water utilised in cooking and ice preparation. The inspection team found that desserts, mushrooms, chopped onions, and non-vegetarian items lacked appropriate labelling. Iron knives were observed in food preparation areas, which inspectors noted as a concern.

Sanitation issues included mould growth detected on stored cauliflower and potatoes, and cooking oil used for French fries was deemed unsuitable for further use. Open dustbins positioned near active food preparation zones posed additional hygiene risks.

The inspection team immediately disposed of the affected vegetables and contaminated cooking oil. Officials instructed the management to enhance food labelling procedures, upgrade storage systems, maintain all required documentation, and reinforce hygiene protocols throughout the establishment.

Based on the findings, the CMC issued an Improvement Notice to AnTeRa. Under CMC guidelines, establishments scoring between 50 and 90 percent receive such notices, allowing them time to address deficiencies. The corporation stated it will continue conducting inspections across restaurants, commercial kitchens, and food service establishments throughout Cyberabad to maintain public health standards.
