Ammann India Convenes Stakeholders to Promote Recycling Technologies in Road Infrastructure

Ammann India, a manufacturer of road construction equipment and the sole domestic provider of up to 60% advanced asphalt recycling capabilities, convened a seminar focused on recycling technologies in road infrastructure at Novotel Hi Tech City in Hyderabad.
The gathering drew participation from over 70 representatives across 35 entities involved in road construction, infrastructure development, research institutions, and policy formulation. Attendees engaged in substantive conversations regarding how recycling technologies can drive resource optimization, lower construction expenses, and foster environmentally responsible road development throughout the country.
As virgin material expenses escalate and sustainability gains prominence in infrastructure initiatives, the seminar served as a venue for specialists to share perspectives on expanding the utilization of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) and allied recycling methodologies.
The programme included presentations delivered by Mr. Prasad Dayal, General Manager at Ammann India; Mr. Martinho J. Fernandes, Assistant Vice President and Product Head for Asphalt Plants at Ammann India; Dr. Dharamveer Singh, Professor at IIT Bombay; Dr. Manoranjan Parida, Former Director of CSIR-CRRI; Dr. Ramya Sri Mullapudi, Assistant Professor at IIT Hyderabad; and Mr. Rajesh Kumar Pandey, Independent Director of Vertis Infrastructure Trust. Topics examined encompassed asphalt recycling methodologies, elevated RAP deployment, pavement restoration practices, rejuvenator innovations, emerging regulatory frameworks, and prospects for asphalt recycling expansion in India.
In his address, Mr. Dheeraj Panda, Managing Director of Ammann India, stated: "The central challenge facing India's road construction sector throughout the coming decade will centre not on construction volume, but on generating maximum value while reducing virgin resource consumption. Competitive advantage for the industry will emerge increasingly through technological advancement, circular economy principles, and resource-efficient methodologies. Technologies like Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement signify a transformative approach to viewing road infrastructure as renewable resources. Partnerships spanning industry players, government bodies, academic researchers, and technology innovators prove essential for fostering an ecosystem supportive of recycling. Ammann pursues such collaborative dialogue to embed recycling as a foundational element of road construction practices across India."
Participants underscored RAP's expanding capability to decrease reliance on freshly extracted materials while preserving road quality and durability. Specialists presented findings demonstrating how sophisticated RAP technologies can meaningfully diminish virgin aggregate requirements, curtail energy consumption, and deliver financial advantages. Discussion also encompassed mechanisms for scaling recycling adoption nationally via expanded technological implementation, legislative frameworks, and sector-wide education.
The seminar emphasized substantial prospects for recycling-centred infrastructure development in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, regions experiencing ongoing infrastructure investment that generates demand for cutting-edge construction solutions.
Ammann India maintains approximately 50% market share in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and has contributed to numerous regional road projects. Via its technological capabilities and regional operations, the organization continues partnering with construction firms and infrastructure stakeholders to promote environmentally conscious road development.
Nationally, Ammann India maintains a leading position in asphalt recycling technological development.
The seminar concluded with collective dedication from attendees to deepen working relationships and expedite recycling technology implementation, underscoring the significance of sustainable construction methodologies in fulfilling India's infrastructure expansion requirements.
