Hyderabad police have arrested a man accused of committing numerous burglaries and thefts across the city. The suspect, identified as Mandla Shiva, also known as Yerra Shiva, is 32 years old and hails from Bhupesh Gupta Colony in Jillelaguda, Meerpet, located in Rangareddy district. His native place is Ram Naik Tanda in Kollapur mandal, Nagarkurnool district.

The arrest was made by the Crime Team of Serilingampally Zone working in coordination with Ameenpur police station. During the operation, authorities recovered gold ornaments weighing 45 tolas, along with diamond-studded jewellery, Rs. 5,000 in cash, a scooter, and an iron rod believed to have been used in the crimes.

Investigators traced the suspect to multiple burglaries committed over recent months. On February 21, 2026, he allegedly broke into a residence in Gandigudem Colony, located under Ameenpur police station jurisdiction. Using an iron rod to prise open the lock, he reportedly stole gold and silver ornaments from the property.

A second incident occurred during the second week of April 2026 in Bandamkommu locality, where the suspect allegedly targeted another locked house and made off with diamond-studded gold ornaments weighing approximately 50 tolas. Later that month, in the last week of April, he committed a theft in Beeramguda locality, stealing watches and cash from an almirah inside a residence.

Police records indicate the accused originally came to Hyderabad seeking employment and worked as a construction labourer under a mason. However, investigators say he subsequently turned to property crimes to support an expensive lifestyle. The suspect has been linked to 24 property offence cases across Cyberabad Commissionerate, Malkajgiri Commissionerate, and Nagarkurnool district. He has faced imprisonment in previous cases.

The operation was overseen by Chintamaneni Srinivas, IPS, DCP of Serilingampally Zone, alongside Muthyam Reddy, DCP Crimes, N. Uday Reddy, Additional DCP Serilingampally Zone, and Nageswara Rao, ACP Crimes. Inspector Bhoopati of CCS Serilingampally and DI Satyanarayana of Ameenpur police station led the team that apprehended the suspect. The Cyberabad Police Commissioner commended the efforts of the Ameenpur police team in resolving the burglary cases.
