Ambuja Cements Opens Community Hall in Upparwahi, Chandrapur District

May 7, 2026

Ambuja Cements, ranked as the 9th largest building materials solutions provider worldwide and a subsidiary of the Adani Portfolio, has inaugurated a new community hall in Upparwahi village within Chandrapur district. The project emerged from the company's corporate social responsibility efforts aimed at bolstering rural infrastructure and enhancing living standards in local communities.

The facility addresses a persistent gap in village resources, providing a dedicated venue for diverse community activities. The multipurpose space is designed to accommodate Gram Sabha proceedings, health and education awareness campaigns, skill-building programmes, and meetings of self-help groups. Beyond these functions, the hall will also serve as a venue for cultural celebrations and social gatherings that strengthen bonds among residents.

Former Member of Parliament Naresh Puglia led the inauguration ceremony, joined by Ambuja Cements representatives, municipal officials, and community members. The event drew substantial attendance from village residents, underscoring widespread community backing for the initiative.

Ambuja Cements frames the project as part of its broader strategy to foster sustainable development in rural areas. According to the company, the hall will facilitate capacity-building efforts, youth participation, and collective decision-making processes at the village level. These activities are expected to contribute to long-term improvements in socio-economic conditions and create pathways for inclusive growth.

The company emphasises that such infrastructure investments reflect its commitment to supporting community-driven development programmes that expand access to opportunities and elevate quality of life across rural regions where it operates.
