Alethea Advisors Strengthens Executive Bench with New Growth and M&A Leadership

Alethea Advisors, an independent strategic transaction and corporate advisory firm, has named Gyanendra N Pati to the newly created role of Chief Growth and Marketing Officer and elevated Gaurav Jain to Director, Head of M&A and Global Delivery. The appointments underscore the firm's push to deepen its mergers and acquisitions footprint and cross-border advisory capabilities.
Pati brings 22 years of professional experience spanning technology, banking and financial services, fintech, and global capability centres. In his new capacity, he will oversee the firm's growth initiatives, brand development, and market penetration across India and beyond.
Jain, whose career spans more than two decades in investment banking operations and M&A advisory, will take charge of transaction execution and the company's offshore delivery operations for both domestic and international mandates.
The appointments reflect a broader strategic shift within Alethea. Rather than confining itself to traditional advisory services, the firm is moving toward a comprehensive model encompassing transaction execution, valuation services, IPO preparation, and global delivery operations. This integrated approach reflects changing client expectations, according to the firm's leadership.
"The advisory landscape is transforming fundamentally," said Sumit Kumar, Founder and Managing Director of Alethea Advisors. Kumar previously worked with major international firms including Deloitte, KPMG, BDO, and Grant Thornton. "Clients now demand more than conventional consulting or transaction support. They seek true partners capable of delivering strategic guidance, execution capability, global operations excellence, and market intelligence as a unified offering."
Pati's professional journey includes roles at Acuity Analytics, Moody's, Infosys, and HP Inc., where he spearheaded global marketing initiatives and enterprise commercial strategies. "Organizations are seeking more targeted advice and greater certainty in execution, particularly as business environments grow more challenging," Pati said. "We have the opportunity to establish an advisory practice that enables companies to realize value and achieve sustainable growth."
Jain previously held senior positions at Moody's Corporation and Acuity Analytics, with extensive regional exposure across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. "There is significant potential for advisory firms that combine analytical rigor with flexible, responsive execution," Jain said. "This is particularly relevant for cross-border transactions and emerging market deals, where clients require comprehensive support throughout the entire transaction process."
Moving forward, Alethea plans to enhance its offerings in cross-border M&A advisory, strategic finance, valuation expertise, IPO and capital markets preparation, offshore delivery capabilities, and India market-entry guidance. The firm continues to serve founders, growth-stage enterprises, investor groups, and corporate organizations navigating growth, organizational restructuring, and expansion initiatives.
Based in Bengaluru, Alethea works across sectors and geographies, supporting corporates, entrepreneurs, institutional investors, and other stakeholders in executing strategic transactions, managing capital initiatives, and implementing business transformation programmes.
