Adilabad Police Dismantle Forgery Operation, Arrest Five Suspects

Authorities in Adilabad have successfully dismantled a sophisticated document forgery operation that was producing counterfeit government certificates and identity documents.
The Mavala police force apprehended five individuals involved in the scheme, though one additional suspect remains at large. During their operation, investigators recovered over 280 digital documents, numerous mobile devices, and various forged certificates.
District Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan outlined the case particulars at a press briefing held at Mavala Police Station on Thursday. The investigation commenced following a tip-off regarding the illegal production of birth certificates in the vicinity of Union Bank along Dasnapur Road in Adilabad town.
Municipal Commissioner A. Jagadeeshwar Goud had lodged a formal complaint after observing irregularities in the certificates being circulated. Upon examination, officers determined that the documents in question bore no correspondence to legitimate government records, establishing a pattern of extensive falsification and fraudulent activity.
Under the direction of the district police chief, a dedicated investigation team headed by Mavala Inspector K. Swami moved swiftly to apprehend the culprits. The arrested individuals have been identified as Osa Ravikumar, Shaik Ameer, Abdul Mujahid, Abdul Tanveer, and Adapa Santosh. The sixth accused, named Junaid, continues to evade capture.
The investigation revealed that the criminal network employed PDF editing software on mobile phones to generate counterfeit official documents. According to police records, the accused charged between Rs 1,500 and Rs 3,000 per forged certificate.
SP Mahajan cautioned citizens to procure all government-issued certificates exclusively through authorised governmental offices and designated Mee Seva centres. DSP Jeevan Reddy, Station House Officer Rahul Kanth, and Circle Inspector Swami participated in the media conference alongside the district superintendent.
