Suspended Tahsildar Faces Disproportionate Assets Charges in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Authorities have launched a disproportionate assets investigation into Thummakomma Sucharita, a suspended Tahsildar and Joint Sub-Registrar posted to Shamirpet mandal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The Anti-Corruption Bureau alleges that she accumulated substantial wealth through corrupt means during her tenure in office.

Searches conducted by the ACB at her residence and three additional locations connected to her relatives, associates, and benamis uncovered assets valued at approximately ₹5.05 crore.

The inventory of seized assets includes agricultural holdings spanning 2 acres and 17 guntas in Siddipet district, three residential flats in Hyderabad, two plots situated in Keesara and Khanamet, approximately ₹12 lakh in cash, bank savings totalling ₹38 lakh, gold and diamond jewellery valued at ₹1.20 crore, and two vehicles—a Volkswagen and a Hyundai Creta.

According to ACB officials, the market valuation of the immovable properties is anticipated to exceed their recorded documentation values substantially. The verification process remains ongoing as investigators continue their examination.

In a related development, Sucharita was previously arrested in connection with bribery allegations. Investigators contend that she sought a bribe of ₹30 lakh and received ₹2 lakh as an initial instalment. She currently remains in judicial custody pending the completion of investigations.
