Hyderabad authorities have arrested a chronic offender following an extortion attempt at a city hotel. The Abids police department took into custody Syed Sayeed Bahadur, known as Bhadur, a 54-year-old resident of Bhagavathi Nagar in Jubilee Hills who maintains a record as a rowdy sheeter at the Jubilee Hills Police Station.

The incident unfolded when the accused entered Taj Mahal Hotel in Abids, consumed food, and subsequently refused to settle the bill. Upon being confronted by staff members demanding payment, he allegedly resorted to abusive language and intimidation, claiming connections to serious criminal enterprises.

According to law enforcement officials, the situation escalated when the accused produced a blade and inflicted injury upon himself within the hotel premises. He then made demands for Rs 10,000 from the management, threatening to take his own life and upload videos of the incident on social media platforms if his demands were not met.

The hotel management filed a formal complaint with the Abids police, prompting officers to register a case and apprehend the accused. Investigation revealed a troubling criminal background spanning multiple jurisdictions.

Records indicate the accused has been implicated in approximately 41 criminal cases registered across both Hyderabad and Cyberabad police jurisdictions. The charges against him encompass serious offences including murder, extortion, snatching, housebreaking, kidnapping, criminal trespass, intimidation, and violations of the Arms Act.

Following his arrest, the accused was presented before the II Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Nampally. The judicial officer remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody pending further proceedings.
