Stanley Lifestyles Invests in Long-Term Growth Despite Flat FY26 Performance
Stanley Lifestyles Ltd has released its audited financial results for the quarter and fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, revealing a company in transition as it prioritises foundational investments over near-term profitability gains.
The Bengaluru-based luxury and super-premium furniture manufacturer, established in 2007, reported consolidated revenues of ₹4,193 million for FY26, representing a marginal 1.6% decline from ₹4,262 million in FY25. The company's net profit fell sharply to ₹130 million from ₹292 million in the previous year—a 55.5% drop—as elevated depreciation charges, finance costs, and the impact of new labour regulations weighed on the bottom line.
The fourth quarter proved particularly challenging. Q4 FY26 revenues stood at ₹1,014 million, down 10.1% year-on-year, with geopolitical tensions and supply chain disruptions cited as contributing factors. Quarterly earnings swung to a loss of ₹6 million compared to a profit of ₹108 million in Q4 FY25, as EBITDA contracted 33.5% to ₹151 million.
On a brighter note, the company improved its gross profit margin to 57.8% in FY26 from 56.3% in FY25, credited to operational efficiencies, localisation efforts, and a more favourable product mix. However, this expansion was offset by increased expenses tied to store openings and other operational outlays.
Sunil Suresh, Chairman of Stanley Lifestyles, characterised FY26 as a year of deliberate strategic positioning. "While financial performance remained relatively flat over the last few quarters, we continued to invest in operational capabilities, retail expansion, and organisational strengthening to position the Company for sustainable growth," he stated.
The company has undergone a significant geographical transformation over the past two years. What was once a Bengaluru-focused operation has evolved into a network of company-owned stores spanning Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, and Delhi. This shift from franchise arrangements to direct ownership has provided the company greater control over brand positioning, pricing consistency, and customer experience.
The management also flagged an upcoming consolidation of subsidiary entities into the parent company as a measure to streamline operations, enhance financial transparency, and strengthen organisational focus. Leadership changes during the year created some disruption, though the company signalled its commitment to building a stronger management structure moving forward.
Promoters have maintained their full investment in the company, underscoring their long-term commitment to value creation for all stakeholders. The company appears positioned for recovery in FY27 and beyond, contingent on the execution of its expansion and operational efficiency initiatives.
