Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Surge Past ₹3,000 Mark in Hyderabad Following Fresh Hike

Prices for commercial LPG cylinders have jumped significantly following a decision by state-owned oil marketing companies to increase rates on 19-kg cylinders by ₹993 from Friday.
The latest price adjustment has pushed the cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Hyderabad to ₹3,069. Consumers in New Delhi face similar charges at ₹3,071.50 for an identical cylinder.
In contrast, domestic LPG cylinders of 14.2-kg capacity have not been affected by the revision. Household consumers will therefore continue to pay existing rates, even as international fuel prices remain elevated.
Monthly price revisions for LPG cylinders are standard practice among oil companies, typically implemented at the start of each month. Commercial gas rates have experienced consistent upward pressure in recent months.
This latest increase represents the third price hike for commercial LPG cylinders in 2026. Oil firms had raised prices by ₹144 in March, followed by an increase of nearly ₹200 on April 1.
The sharp price rise is expected to add pressure on operational costs for hotels, restaurants, food establishments, and other businesses reliant on commercial cooking gas.
Global geopolitical tensions continue to weigh on energy markets. Ongoing conflict in West Asia involving Iran, the United States, and Israel has disrupted shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz, affecting international fuel supply chains.
Industry analysts attribute the steep climb in commercial LPG prices to supply chain disruptions and the resulting uncertainty in global energy transportation networks.
